Grant A New Dimensions User The Privilege To View Documents In ADM

To fix the user's issue first check if the user are using the correct URL in Server URL Field on the ADM Client login screen.

The user can do this by the following steps:

  1. Log into Dimensions Account as SA.

  2. Click on System tab.

  3. Click Options, System Control Options.

  4. Click on Record Tab.

  5. Check the URL in ADM of Webservice field.

If the URL in the ADM of Webservice field is https://document.accessacloud.com, then the user are using the Hosted Solution Access WorkSpace Document.

If user is using Access Workspace Document the user will have to:

  1. Create an Access Workspace user

  2. Grant the workspace user privileges to use aCLOUD\Workspace Document.

  3. Link the workspace user to a Dimensions User.

If the user is using Access WorkSpace Document the user should read the Knowledge Base Article ADM : How To Create A New Workspace User And Grant The User Privileges On aCloud Document And Link To A Dimensions User.


This article tells a user how to:

  1. Create an Access Workspace user

  2. Grant the workspace user privileges to use aCLOUD\Workspace Document.

  3. Link the workspace user to a Dimensions User.

If the URL in the field ADM of Webservice field is not https://document.accessacloud.com then the user is using the non hosted solution Access Document Management.

If the user is using Access Document Management they will have to:

  1. Create a ADM user

  2. Link that ADM user to a Dimensions Accounts User

The user can create a non window authentication ADM user with the following steps

  • Log into the ADM Client. (You can log into ADM Client/App with the ADM administrator user this is usually set up as username ADM and user id MSTR. Ensure you un-tick the Windows User tick box, If you are unable to log in please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article) .

  • Click on System tab.

  • Click on Manage User icon.

  • Select a colleague doing the same role .

  • Click on Edit User.

  • Click on Member Of tab.

  • Record which groups the user is a member of.

  • Click cross in the top left hand corner of the Create/User screen to close record.

  • Click on Create User icon.

  • Enter the following fields:

    • User Id.

    • User Name.

    • Password.

    • Email Address.

  • Tick User Account Has Been Enabled tick box.

  • If the user wishes the new user they are creating to have access to the System Control tab in the ADM client. Then tick User has access to System Control tick box.

  • Click on Member Of tab and add the user to the same groups as their colleague doing the same role.

  • Click Save.
